As another new year approaches, I find myself reflecting on the actions I can take to create the world I want my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to inherit—a world where disability is simply a natural part of the human experience, seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
For me, the vision is clear: I want to contribute to a world that prioritizes inclusion, equity, and accessibility-a world where everyone, regardless of ability, feels they truly belong.
I’ll admit, I’m not a tech expert or a social media whiz, but I’m deeply committed to doing my part to make this vision a reality. That’s why I’m excited to introduce #AllInForAllAbilities, a movement dedicated to building communities where everyone can thrive.
My hope is that #AllInForAllAbilities becomes more than just a hashtag. I want it to be a
catalyst for fostering equal, inclusive, and welcoming communities for people with disabilities.
This is critically important because, for far too long, barriers-physical, social, and
systemic—have prevented individuals with disabilities from fully participating in our shared
spaces.
Consider this: Over 1 billion people, or 15% of the world's population, live with a disability, according to the World Health Organization. Despite being the largest minority group globally, individuals with disabilities often face persistent exclusion and limited access to opportunities.
For example, in the United States, only 19% of people with disabilities were employed in 2022, compared to 65% of those without disabilities. Breaking down these barriers isn’t just about fairness—it enriches our culture and strengthens our communities.
Inclusion is more than doing what’s fair; it’s about recognizing the strength of diverse, accessible communities. Communities that embrace accessibility are stronger, more innovative, and more compassionate.
People with disabilities bring unique talents, perspectives, and skills that enhance our shared
spaces in countless ways. Yet systemic obstacles often prevent their full participation.
Universal design and accessibility don’t just benefit people with disabilities-they improve life for everyone. Features like ramps, captions, and flexible policies make spaces more navigable and experiences more inclusive for all.
Human Rights Are Non-Negotiable: Ensuring equity for people with disabilities isn’t an
act of charity—it’s a fundamental issue of justice and fairness.
How to Join the #AllInForAllAbilities Movement
If you share this vision, I invite you to join the #AllInForAllAbilities movement. Together, we
can educate, create change, and grow this initiative in meaningful ways. Here’s how you can be part of the movement:
1. Spread the Word
Use social media to share the message of #AllInForAllAbilities. Post your thoughts,
experiences, and efforts to promote inclusion. Be sure to write it just this way:
#AllInForAllAbilities, so blind and visually impaired individuals using screen readers
can access it easily.
Encourage others to join by using the hashtag in your posts. The more we discuss
inclusion, the more people will be inspired to act.

Host or attend events focused on disability awareness and inclusion, such as workshops,
community panels, or online discussions.
3. Take Action in Your Community
Audit the spaces you frequent, such as workplaces, schools, or local venues. Are they
accessible to all? If not, advocate for changes.
Foster inclusive practices in your daily life—use inclusive language, offer assistance
when needed, and ensure everyone feels welcome.
Volunteer with or support organizations that champion accessibility and inclusion.
4. Involve Businesses and Leaders
Encourage local businesses and community leaders to prioritize accessibility by
implementing features like ramps, accessible websites, and inclusive hiring practices.
Write to policymakers, urging them to create inclusive policies that make a large-scale
difference.
5. Connect and Collaborate
Join forces with like-minded individuals and groups passionate about inclusion. Together, we can amplify our impact.
Let’s Build a Future Where Everyone Belongs
#AllInForAllAbilities is about making inclusion a fundamental value that guides our
communities. Real change stems from collective action—every voice and every effort counts.
This movement isn’t something one person can achieve alone. It thrives when we all pitch
in—by spreading awareness, taking small steps in our communities, or advocating for systemic change.
Let’s make 2025 the year we commit to being #AllInForAllAbilities. Together, we can make
inclusion our way of life and build a future where everyone belongs.
Are you with me? Let’s spread the word, share the hashtag, and take meaningful action.
